Valley Golf

UK direct-to-consumer golf brand · Shopify storefront build

A new direct-to-consumer golf brand needed a storefront that matched its product pricing. We built the brand system, the storefront and the full catalogue — now live as the brand's primary sales channel.

// The Problem

Where we started

Valley Golf launched as a direct-to-consumer brand selling its own golf bags, caps, headcovers and apparel — products priced up to £335. A brand asking that of a customer cannot look like a stock theme with a logo dropped into it.

The problem with most new e-commerce brands is not the platform, it is that the storefront undersells the product. Stock themes are built to display any catalogue, which means they are optimised for none — generic collection grids, no room for product storytelling, and a mobile experience that treats a £335 bag exactly like a £5.99 pack of tees.

The brief was a storefront that carried the premium positioning from the first scroll, on a platform the client could run themselves once we handed it over.

// What We Did

The approach

01

Built on Shopify, but not off the shelf

We built on Shopify so the client keeps a platform they can operate, extend and get support for — but customised deeply rather than accepting the stock layout. Collection and product templates were rebuilt around this specific range, so a stand bag gets the space and detail it needs while accessories stay quick to browse.

02

A brand design system, not a theme skin

Typography, colour, spacing and component styling were defined as a system and applied consistently across every template, so the storefront holds together as the catalogue grows. New products drop into an existing visual language rather than needing bespoke design each time.

03

Merchandising built around how golfers browse

Six collections structured around what buyers actually shop for — bags separately from apparel, headcovers and caps as their own routes in, and a Best Sellers collection as the fast path for undecided visitors. The full range was shot and merchandised across 103 product images so every listing carries the same quality signal.

04

Mobile-first checkout and technical baseline

The cart and checkout flow were tuned for mobile, where this audience overwhelmingly shops. SEO structure, structured data and a Core Web Vitals performance baseline were set at launch rather than retrofitted, and an Admin API toolkit was built alongside so catalogue and theme changes can be scripted and version-controlled rather than clicked through by hand.

// Results

What happened

  • The storefront is live and trading at valleygolf.co.uk as the brand's primary sales channel.
  • Full own-brand catalogue live across six collections — golf bags, caps, headcovers, hoodies, accessories and best sellers — spanning a £5.99 to £335 price range with a single consistent brand treatment across all of it.
  • 103 product images shot and merchandised, so the premium positioning holds at every level of the catalogue rather than only on the hero products.
  • Delivered on Shopify so the client retains full operational control of the platform after handover, with a scripted Admin API toolkit for catalogue and theme changes.

This is a build case study. The brand system, storefront, catalogue architecture and technical baseline were delivered by Seven Marketing, and the site is live and trading. The client has not released commercial performance data, so no revenue, traffic or conversion figures are claimed here. Catalogue figures verified live against the storefront in August 2026.
